Gang graffiti of the defacing kind, by its very nature, can create more violence in a community and sometimes endanger it. It defaces when it becomes nothing more than an exercise in the control of space by those who exploit that community’s weaknesses for profit at any cost. Painting over that gang graffiti can get a person hurt if you don’t clear it with the right people.
